"The incomparable role that the human face plays in the sphere of the fine arts is only described in very general terms and as if from afar by the fact that the soul expresses itself most in its form."
Georg Simmel, German philosopher and sociologist
As the human face is so valuable, the care we give it should be just as valuable. And this care is also necessary. As unlike in the past, we no longer live in ideal conditions – too much UV radiation, air pollution, poor nutrition, alcohol and cigarettes put the body under biological stress, which can damage the cells.
For this reason, we at ANACOS face cream only use the most precious ingredients. The highlight is evening primrose (Onagraceae) whose flowers only open in the evening hours, "light up" throughout the night and have a sweet scent.
However, the most precious ingredient in ANACOS face cream is not extracted directly from the plant but from the square-shaped fruit capsule, which contains 200 blackish brown seeds each. The fatty, high-quality oil is extracted from these 1-2 mm large grains. This consists 60 to 80 percent of linoleic acid and 8 to 14 percent of the very rare gamma linolenic acid. These two essential fatty acids are involved in building up cell membranes. They form components of skin lipids and are therefore important keeping the epidermis's barrier function intact.
Gamma linolenic acid is therefore the real precious treasure in evening primrose. This is because it takes about 20,000 seeds to extract a single gram of gamma linolenic acid from them.
The knowledge about the effect of evening primrose is not completely new. The Indians of North America have long since crushed the seeds into a plant pulp and used it for skin rashes or for skin care. During the course of modern research, it was finally discovered that the valuable gamma linolenic acid is responsible for the healing effect on the skin.
